STOCK ORTHOS

An ortho is an image that has been "orthorectified". This means that the image is free of distortion and has been registered precisely to surveyed ground control points. Orthos are used to obtain true distance measurements between all ground features at twice the pixel resolution. These digitized images are a permanent visual record of ground features. When read into geographic information system (GIS) software, they can be used by businesses and government agencies to manage land and natural resources, plan and provide essential services, facilitate marketing studies, and for many other purposes.

Aero-Data has ortho coverage of East Baton Rouge Parish, New Orleans, and Lake Charles available on both preburned and customized CD's. Indexes of the preburned CD's can be accessed by clicking the links below. The indexes are shown at 60' pixel resolution, while the high resolution ortho imagery is available in 0.8, 5, and 10 foot pixel resolutions. Aero-Data also makes these images available in stereo pairs for 3-D viewing and has a fully-equipped Photo Laboratory, which produces prints as well as cropped and scaled enlargements in standard and custom sizes.

In addition to the orthos, photographic-quality computer generated plots of this imagery are also available. Plots ranging in size from 8.5" x 11" to 36" x 100" can be provided at a fraction of the time and cost compared to photographic reproductions. For most popular size plots, our clients can walk in and out of the Aero-Data office with their print in hand. Aero-Data also has historic aerial photographic coverage in the same formats.
